Back to Bedlam

Downloaded and burnt James Blunt's album but had to use the older PC to do it. I'll take my CD player tomorrow to listen to it. It took longer than I thought it would and I want to go bed now rather than listen to music.

Rocky soundtrack

Had a rip and listen to Jane's Rocky Horror soundtrack today. She'd brought it in because Janet had never heard the 'Damn it, Janet' song. The listen today hasn't sold me on it yet, but I will try another listen or two. Jane tells me that she knew this soundtrack before she saw the movie, and also knows Evita as well. I said me too to the latter!

Ain't It Funny

Jennifer Lopez:

It seemed to be like the perfect thing for you and me
It's so ironic you're what I had pictured you to be
But there are facts in our lives we can never change
Just tell me that you understand and feel the same
This perfect romance that I've created in my mind
I'd live a thousand lives each one with you right by my side
But yet we find ourselves in a less than perfect circumstance
And so it seems like we'll never have the chance

Ain't it funny how some feelings you just can't deny
And you can't move on even though you try
Ain't it strange when you're feeling things you shouldn't feel
Oh I wish this could be real
Ain't it funny how a moment could just change your life
And you don't want to face what's wrong or right
Ain't it strange how fate can play a part
In the story of your heart

Sometimes I think that a true love can never be
I just believe that somehow it wasn't meant to me
Life can be cruel in a way that I can't explain
And I don't think that I could face it all again
I barely know you but somehow I know what you're about
A deeper love I've found in you, and I no longer doubt
You've touched my heart and it altered every plan I've made
And now I feel that I don't have to be afraid

I locked away my heart
But you just set it free

Emotions I felt held me back from what my life should be
I pushed you far away
And yet you stayed with me
I guess this means
That you and me were meant to be

Stuck on him

Stacie Oricco knows how I am feeling:

I can't get out of bed today
Or get you off my mind
I just can't seem to find a way
To leave the love behind
I ain't trippin
I'm just missing (you)
You know what I'm saying
You know what I mean

Every now and then
When I'm all alone
I be wishing you will call me on the telephone
Say you want me back
But you never do
I feel like such a fool
There's nothing I can do..
I'm such a fool
For you

I can't take it
what am i waiting for?
my hearts still breaking
I miss you even more
And I can't fake it
The way I could before
I hate you, but I love you
I can't stop thinking of you!
It's true
I'm stuck on you

Blow a fuse

A few years back, on her great radio show 'Trash is my life', Fiona Scott-Norman played the original version of the song I knew as 'It's Oh So Quiet'. I loved this original big band 1940s version of the song, and was very glad I taped it at the time. But I never knew who sang it. My problem was that I was looking under the wrong name. The song was originally called 'Blow a Fuse' and performed by a woman named Betty Hutton. Thanks to 'Sex and the City' for solving another long-standing mystery.

Toxic

Another theme song for me from Ms. Spears.

Baby, can't you see
I'm calling
A guy like you
Should wear a warning
It's dangerous
I'm falling

There's no escape
I can't wait
I need a hit
Baby, give me it
You're dangerous
I'm loving it

Too high
Can't come down
Losing my head
Spinning round and round
Do you feel me now?

***
With a taste of your lips
I'm on a ride
You're toxic
I'm slipping under
With a taste of a poison paradise
I'm addicted to you
Don't you know that you're toxic?
And I love what you do
But you know that you're toxic
***
It's getting late
To give you up
I took a sip
From my devil's cup
Slowly
It's taking over me

Too high
Can't come down
It's in the air
And it's all around
Can you feel me now?

***
With a taste of your lips,
I'm on a ride,
You're toxic,
I'm slipping under,
With a taste of a poison paradise,
I'm addicted to you,
Don't you know that you're toxic?
And I love what you do,
But you know that you're toxic!
But you know that you're toxic!
***
Taste of your lips, I'm on a ride
You're toxic
I'm slipping under
With a taste of a poison paradise
I'm addicted to you
Don't you know that you're toxic?

With a taste of your lips
I'm on a ride
You're toxic
I'm slipping under (toxic)
With a taste of a poison paradise
I'm addicted to you
Don't you know that you're toxic

Intoxicate me now
With your loving now
I think I'm ready now
I think I'm ready now
Intoxicate me now
With your loving now
I think I'm ready now

Because I liked this song last night...

Probably the only actual song in the show last night.

Miss Otis regrets she's unable to lunch today, madam.
Miss Otis regrets she's unable to lunch today, mmmmmm.
And she's sorry to be delayed,
but last evening down at lover's lane
she strayed, madam.
Miss Otis regrets she's unable to lunch today.

When she woke up and found
that her dream of love was gone, madam,
she ran to the man
who had lead her so far astray.
And from under her velvet gown
she drew a gun and shot her lover down, madam.
Miss Otis regrets she's unable to lunch today.

When the mob came and got her
and dragged her from the jail, madam,
they strung her up
on the willow across the way.
And the moment before she died
she lifted up her lovely head and cried, madam.
Miss Otis regrets she's unable to lunch.
Miss Otis regrets she's unable to lunch today."
